The only really important guidance here is IMHO, longer measurement sweeps give you more accurate measurements. With other smartphones, cos of different hardware on Android, the SPL may be less accurate, but whatever readings the SPL app provides should be good enough. Especially if you use an Apple smartphone, the results are accurate enough. You can get an SPL app, typically for free or cup of coffee money, for your smartphone. Note - there is a point in the setup for measurement where REW will need you to tell it the SPL of audio which it has sent to your speakers. The guidance below is especially for REW,
